Free to Commercial Change
May 15, 2012 Mail In Vote is around a month in the wild and I've decided to switch from offering a community and professional version to just the professional version which will be released in the coming weeks. Until then, I will go ahead and allow for the download of the community version.
When I started Code Haiku, I wanted to be able to provide high quality extensions to as many people as possible. My thought process out of the gate was to use what is called a freemium business model which is to offer two versions of software: free and paid. My goal with this was to help the largest amount of people possible in a way that was sustainable.
Mail In Vote 1.2.1
April 25, 2012 Mail In Vote version 1.2.1 released, which implements update server functionality for the component, allowing site owners from this version forward to update using Joomla's internal update mechanism. Additionally, the ballot creation interface was beautified slightly by using a two column layout.
Mail In Vote Version 1.2
April 24, 2012 Mail In Vote 1.2 is released.
The front end view for ballot results is now based on the Joomla 1.5 ballot results view. This was completed because common older versions of Internet Explorer could not parse the canvas element used by the current javascript graphing library (MooTools Milk Chart, Thank-you Brett Dixon). The back end of the component continues to use MilkChart and it is recommended that if site administrators choose to use Internet Explorer, they use IE 9 or newer.
